ABC CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE

The success of the ABC's programs reflect the dedicated commitment of many of its members and staff, but the ABC would not have reached the level of excellence had it not been for outstanding leadership.

This is perhaps best exemplified by presidents who have made an impact on the development of the ABC with their time, personal resources, passion and personalities.

Dr. Elizabeth Ofili became the first woman president of the ABC in 2000. She initiated the Centers of Excellence at the ABC which focus on the following areas:

Community Health Center
Funded by a gift from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, the Center will facilitate epidemiological research and its significance to preventive cardiovascular medicine. The Center includes Clinical Trials and Community Programs. Read more.

Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development
The Center promotes lifelong learning through educational experiences for physicians, other health professionals and lay audiences. Read more.

Center for Women's Health

Funded through a gift from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation, the Center is dedicated to improving the cardiovascular health of African American and other women of color through education programs, research, and health policy advocacy. Read more.
