Cassandra A. McCullough, MBA

 

Cassandra McCullough is Chief Executive Officer for the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc. (ABC). The selection of McCullough in October 2014 to lead ABC marked the first appointment of a female CEO in its 40-year history. As CEO, McCullough oversees ABC’s operations, education and awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and strategic alliances.

Until her recent appointment, Ms. McCullough served as ABC’s Interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer for a six-month period (Apr-Oct 2014). In 2009, McCullough assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer and had responsibility for managing the hands-on operational aspects of the ABC while assisting the CEO with successful management and growth of the ABC.

Ms. McCullough has more than 25 years experience in the health care industry. Before joining the ABC in 1996, she was on staff at Morehouse School of Medicine in its Continuing Medical Education Division. Prior to this, she worked in Facilities Management at Kaiser Foundation Health Plans of Georgia with responsibility for laboratory, radiology and appointment services. She has served in multiple roles of increasing responsibility at ABC, including Director of Continuing Medical Education, Director of the Center for Continuing Education & Professional Development, and Vice President of Continuing Education. An expert accreditation and regulatory issues, Cassandra played an integral role in the development and re-certification status of ABC’s Continuing Medical Education Program. ABC maintains its Accreditation with Commendation status, the highest designation awarded by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for exemplary compliance.

Ms. McCullough holds a Masters in Business Administration (Health Care Management) from the University of Phoenix. She attended Georgia Southern University and received her undergraduate degree from St. Leo University in Business Administration (Management).

Ms. McCullough is active in a number of professional organizations, including the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education and the American Society of Association Executives.
